Early Diagnosis of Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is the most common form of irregular heartbeat in adults. This condition, which may sometimes go undiagnosed, can lead to blood clots that can cause strokes or even heart failure. As the prevalence of this disease increases with age, it can eventually become a problem for the British health system. Given the nuances of the condition, participants faced three challenges related to it. They worked on using behavioural insights to nudge clinicians to test for AF and to increase treatment rates for patients. On the side of patients, participants creatively used behavioural insights to find ways to help people to follow a treatment regime appropriately.
