Encouraging Entrepreneurship among Youth in Kuwait
Kuwaiti youth have grown up with the idea that working for the government is the most secure way to obtain lifelong employment. As a result, over 20,000 university graduates in Kuwait are unemployed and waiting for an opportunity with this institution. They represent an untapped reserve of highly skilled talent in a country set on transforming its economy for the future, particularly its private sector. With this in mind, participants worked to use behavioural insights to encourage youth to start their own businesses by helping them shed their preconceived notions about employment and encouraging them to reach into their own talent to start businesses.
